Alex Castillo – part 2
Alex Castillo was sitting on his couch, watching a football game. His favorite team NY Giants was doing great tonight. On sunday evening, before his flight tomorrow to New York, what better he could do? Few years ago he was a player, very good one. And right now he would still be with the team, playing and not watching them, but the death of his sister Leanne changed everything. His life, his job, his existence as a happy man. Alex’s mother was Miss Puerto Rico once upon a time and he sure took from her the handsome look and the green eyes with sparkles.
Having very silent type of character, not saying much, only when needed, he was many times misunderstood by women. They all thought he don’t care, so none of them lasted for a long time near him. At the age of 35, Alex Castillo was still single, even though handsome and smart, with good job and from a very wealthy family. He would sometimes, late at night, imagine the woman who would make him fall in love crazy. He would dream about her long, black curly hair, about her eyes-light brown, warm sand color and her smile -making any life beautiful. She would love to sit next to him on the couch, while he would watch a game. They will enjoy seeing new places and travel. And most of all, she would understand his silence, because she would talk pleasantly enough for both of them. But before he finds that lovely lady, he had to finish something.
He had to send to jail the murderer of his sister. That’s why he left the football team and became a federal agent.
There was a part of him liking the job, especially in the moments when evil people will get justice. Then he would somehow feel less pain, because of Leanne’s death. Leanne was four years younger than him, she was a bright girl,
bringing joy to everyone around her. She changed when she met him – Joey Amaba- if that was his real name.
The gym instructor from the Philippines, typical playboy. Alex couldn’t understand, how come women were blind to see his real nature? What was so special about him to drive them madly in love?
The day they found Leanne dead in the bathtub with water mixed with blood and her wrists deeply cut, with a note on the bathroom floor explaining why, the police called Alex first, because he was the last one she dialed on the phone.
He came running to her flat, two blocks away from his apartment in the town of Pasadena. The way he saw her, it broke all his emotional barriers. The note was saying about her love with Joey, how much she adored him, but how he used her. Being unreasonably, strongly in love and blindly attached to him, he managed to steal all her money and not only, but most of the family money too. And after all, he dumped her, saying she is worth nothing. Leanne couldn’t stand the shame, couldn’t face the family and the mistake she made, so she ended her life.
Telling his parents was the hardest of all. The amount of pills his mother needed to get through the funeral, his father crying like a lost child- something he has never seen before … it was dramatic. Alex though didn’t plan on waiting the pain to go away. Few days after the funeral he quit the football team and found way to join the bureau. Today, seven years later, Alexis Castillo was closer to Joey Amaba than ever. The bureau got an intel that Joey was in New York and
Alex was going there hoping to complete this case and to finally get a closure.
to be continued …
