An year and a half ago I didn’t think that I will have a poetry blog today and people will be interested in what I have to say or that I will meet so many friendly souls living in every corner of the world … but it’s a fact, I started my blog in October 2010 as “Scent of my heart” / I changed the name later to Broken Sparkles/ and so far I’ve managed to keep up with my posts and the other day I had my 100 blog follower leaving a comment. 100! Compared to some other blogs with much more visitors 100 is probably nothing, but to me it’s something to make me feel proud of myself.

But all this wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the first person who discovered me- Tom Baker. Thanks to Tom’s advice and guidance I am where I am right now. And today I’ve asked Tom and my 100 follower- Karmic Diva, to assemble few words and celebrate this moment with me.

Tom Baker

” I started blogging three years ago this coming October. I’m what people call a procrastinator and on a dare by a few friends I took the challenge of writing a blog for a year. I never in a million years thought anyone would read my ramblings and yet a few people did. When those few people became more I decided to see what else was out in the WordPress universe. I discovered you could search WordPress and find other bloggers that had blogs I was interested in reading.

Armed with this new information, I found many blogs about food, movies and poetry. Poetry is what brought me to Blaga’s Scent Of My Heart blog. I loved her poetry and we have been friends ever since. Now her blog is called Broken Sparkles and is loved by many more people than just I – and they know much more about poetry than I do. Congratulations on your 100th follower. I love you Blaga!”

Karmic Diva

“Congratulations on having 100 followers on your blog. That’s a great milestone to achieve. It is amazing how much talent is being shared through blogging. Poets, scribes, babblers, doodlers and artists are all contributing so much creativity, and sharing so much of themselves and ask nothing in return.

I love to set my thoughts free by writing about whatever experience (real or imagine) comes to mind. I’m also a mixed media and digital artist. I try to blend my art and writing to make sense of a world that sometimes makes no sense at all. I consider my life “controlled chaos” that is sometimes chaos out of control. Writing puts life in perspective for me.

Thank you Broken Sparkles for honoring me with the opportunity to meet you and to share this accomplishment with you. Keep writing and sharing. The inspiration you give will come back to you ten-fold. Your friend and follower – Karmic Diva”

A Poem of Passion
by Karmic Diva
Whether he’s just passing by
Or stopping for a lasting kiss
She waits to learn of his intent
While longing for that evening’s bliss
Those restless thoughts of new romance
A mind on fire with lust, desire
A hunger for that reckless chance
To celebrate the lover’s dance
And if she should wish, and wish she might
For the passion of their shared delight
That they should spend a single night
In love all distance shall dissolve.
Their destiny is sealed, and spared
The tempest of what might have been
She bids him farewell and good night
And in the stillness of his sleep
His dream reveals a deep regret
And if regret should bring him back
The rose is not as it once was
The taste of venom on its lips
It waits to poison with its kiss
While sharpening its hardened thorns
A haunting odor permeates
The once sweet fragrance of unknown fate.
I thank you, both, very much for sharing this moment with me and for blessing me with the beauty of a friendship! And I thank each of you that support me with your positive presence and follow my posts!

From Athens With Love

“This is how it works- you’re young until you’re not, you love until you don’t, you try until you can’t, you laugh until you cry, you cry until you laugh and everyone must breathe until their dying breath. `Cause this is how it works- you take the things you like then try to love the things you took and then you take that love you made and stick it in to someone else’s heart, pumping someone else’s blood and walk around unarmed, hoping that it won’t get harmed and even if it does you’ll just do it all again” ~ Regina Spektor

* * * * *

Good morning or good evening, good afternoon or good night? I’ll leave this to your choice, but whatever you decide to pick up, make sure you notice the love I sent together with the greetings. Well, it’s been quite a “funny” time lately, which probably can explain my absence from the blogging world. The Muses have been playing Chinese scrabble with me and do I need to mention who won since Chinese is not on the list with languages that I speak?

Life has been like the “Horse in Motion” / the first movie ever made/. Considering that I love horses and black and white colors you’d ask what’s wrong with life being that way? The motion! The problem is in the motion! The horse is bored to tired and the colors, they’ve just gone bleak! There is a part of a song that I like very much:

” They say that bad things happen for a reason, but no wise words will stop the bleeding, because “life” has moved on while I’m still grieving and when a heart breaks, no it doesn’t breakeven.”  And there are words I remember my granny told me once: ” Certain things in life need to be lived, good or bad, you shouldn’t try to escape them. Be patient and let time help you find your way, there is always a way!”.

So I guess I’m just spending time quietly and patiently waiting for the light to revive the colors around me. And since I am an optimist by nature, I don’t really suffer from all the transitions around me, I still have a smile on my face, because I do believe in the saying:  ” Tomorrow is always a better day!”, but, by nature too, I build walls and I become distant when life bothers me. So here comes the time where I need to say to all my online friends – I haven’t forgot about any of you and I haven’t missed any of your posts on purpose …

Writing “Adagio” and “In love with a poet” it was a consuming- all-my-energy experience. The truth is, I’m quite happy with both poems, but in the process I missed my first blog birthday. My blog is now 1 year, 1 month and 11 days old and I’m really surprised that I made it up to here. After 166 posts, 456 spam comments and 18 257 hits, I’m still here and I plan on keeping it that way, which leads me to my plans for December …

I’ve decided to join Community Network Meme 2011. It will take part in December and it will be hosted by my friend Tom Baker / for more information click HERE/. I call Tom my first guiding blogging light. He was the first person I met when I started blogging and the good start that I had I owe to him and his advice. Thank you Tom!

Tom has also created a new blog – Flavor Internationale and I am claiming a neighborhood there. Read more about Flavor Internationale HERE. If you want to share a part of your culture, a piece of your country, that’s the place.

And to finish this post and start my day with a smile again, accept my little poem as a gift for your friendship and support!

From Athens With Love

In the loving New York 3 a.m. light
Under the orange sunset over Golden Gate Bridge
With the winds dancing with Seattle’s Space Needle
Through the snowflakes humming in Burlington, Ontario
Listen to the herald of the Mediterranean

Walking with the beauty of the Queen’s necklace in Mumbai
Taking a deep breath, staring at Taj Mahal
Counting the red sand in the stones of Qutb Minar
Whispering to Buddha in Hussain Sagar
Keep a little memory of the blue skies and me

Watching the Eclipse of the Moon over Lapland
Or chasing Butterflies of Time in Asia
Deciphering Dragon’s Dreams with the fall
Of the first Autumn leaves on the South coast
Or painting poems Inside the Mind of a Lunatic

Searching for the key of how to write and read
Or tracing the beauty of the mind and its whirls
Smiling over a cup of coffee, spreading joy
Or musing only when the moon howls
Know that you are the sunshine of my rainy days
