Season’s favorite challenge.

Autumn

To be honest, I don’t find anything favorite about Autumn. So, this post will be more about what reminds me that my favorite season Summer is gone and the day is not that long anymore, the leaves … they fight for few more days of life and eventually fall, dry and ugly brown. It’s a whole procedure and ritual to get used to Autumn, to convince my body, spirit and soul that there will be few months without hot, starry nights and usually I manage at around mid-Winter, which is a success, believe me … Here in Greece we don’t really have Autumn, but I’ve spent enough Autumn seasons in Bulgaria.

"Autumn in Rodopi- mountains, Bulgaria"

– Word –

Evanescence The act or state of vanishing away; disappearance; as, the evanescence of vapor, of a dream, of earthly plants or hopes.

– Quote –

A wind has blown the rain away and blown the sky away and all the leaves away, and the trees stand.  I think, I too, have known autumn too long.  ~ e.e. cummings

People

by Blaga Todorova

they come,
when the dust crawls
on street corners,
when you need help
to inhale the ashes
left after demons fight.
kindness offered,
breaths undercover
making you a better man
a woman,
barely in charge, addicted
you accept them

they hold you,
when tears betray you
to let you know
there’s this salty taste of life.
no proof of sound to register
the beauty of arms around you.
in and out, up and down
the value of a friendly hand
matters in each second,
in moments when you realize
you can’t have
the whole pot of ice-cream alone.

they go eventually,
with a promise to return
but only in your deep sleep,
leaving empty
the guest’s cup of coffee
grounded on a shelf with bitter herbs.
they come and go
like trains in opposite directions,
like seasons changing the shade of the day
leaving you constantly sitting
on a cold bench at faraway metro station

They come and always go …

– Book –

“The Kite runner” – a novel by Khaled Hosseini. Published in 2003 and adapted into a film of the same name in 2007. It’s a story of  a young boy – Amir – from the Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul, who befriends Hassan, the son of his father’s Hazara servant. The story is set of events, from the fall of Afghanistan’s monarchy through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the rise of the Taliban regime.

– Song –

Miro – Ubivai me s lubov/ Kill me with love/ – the video above.

Lyrics translated to English:

You always look at me,
you constantly follow me,
you want me helpless,
you shoot mercilessly,
with every word, with every touch
you’re hurting me with roses
and their thorns and I bleed.

I’m not afraid from your arrows, love,
I’m not lost in a sin, I’m ready for you.
Without happiness I can survive,
but not without you and I won’t
notice even if you kill me with love.

Day after day, you want less from me,
the time flies by and I feel sad,
with every word with every touch
I’m hurting you  and the roses still
have thorns, but that’s their defense
against you, love …

– Movie –

“Amadeus”- The story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, told by Antonio Salieri – confined to an insane asylum. No matter how many times I see this movie, the music and the play always keep me still on the couch from the beginning to the end.

– Town –

Autumn reminds me of my home town in Bulgaria, the season there is very vividly shown with all signs, but usually at this time of year I feel like having a little escape to Egypt/ Hurghada/, faraway from Fall’s emotions …

– Animal –

– Flower –

 ~*~*~*~*~*~

“for we’re just like autumn leaves,
I close my eyes and I see you smiling,
not so faraway, yet not close enough.
The leaves keep twirling, until
we too, find ourselves lost.”

~ Sonam Mandal
