Frozen violets

Frozen Violets

by  Hugo Ramos and Blaga Todorova

split ebony over silence and dreams,
the phone chimed through
the dim lights of enticing Friday night

the wires touched murmurs,
tones- knotted chords in a breath,
reaching the sanguine lines of the lips

on the other end, a thousand miles away
over wild rivers,
and the emerald foliage of forests

a voice arrived
wrapped in the lemony fragrance
of the Mediterranean

in and out the continents, the words curved in adagio,
notes of a violin, an eloquence keeping the heart
glamored in a clandestine dance

where legs moved across glossy ballroom floors,
and whispers melt into blackness
as the curtains fall

in the dark, his breath curled around her neck,
beyond the end of the dialing thread, she hoped
to dissolve the distance and the ocean’s frozen violets

I haven’t done many collaborations, but writing together with Hugo is such an inspirational experience,

it is so easy to follow his words and the emotions are exquisite.

If you really miss me …

`

If you really miss me …

Are you really here or this is only
the leftovers of someone’s loneliness,
dazzles between a heart’s fire and a logic’s ice?
If I miss you, can I draw the shape of your face,
can I turn the despair into scented lights?

Did I hear you whisper or this is just
the sounds of darkness scraping the dust,
the shadows on my curtainless windows?
If I want you, can I taste your lips or
should I ignore the essence of lust?

And if you miss me, if you really miss me,
will you stare at the sky and its shooting stars,
will you search for passion in this stormy weather
and hope that our last kiss is the one to bring
the wind and the rain in your dreams?

Breathe love

`

Breathe love

So many days with blank skies,
tasteless cobalt whirlpools,
radiance in tangerine falling apart and
the sound of my broken heart
beating always the same,
leering at caverns to fit the resonance.

Chasing imaginary trains,
the ground started spinning and
I reached you through rainbows.
In your eyes I found glue for
the clouds of my broken sparkles,
there is no trace of past agony left.

The sun is rising again, almost,
and in your words the world is safe,
I don’t need wall of endless wires.
In your smile I see a line of stars,
in your arms I’ve found the ocean’s touch,
through your kiss I breathe love …
