Sands and castles

Sands and castles

And it was just before
the light of the day turned
from lambent into crepuscular,
when loneliness dropped in.

No moonlight or chants
apprised me of the doldrums,
only rude, winter whisk abducting
the whims of the first summer.

The stars cried with the twilight,
between smoke and mirrors,
his voice stumbled in fever and salt,
his eyes, blind, faint with darkness.

And my heart, senseless knot of desires,
consumed by the charade of fire-colored roses,
endorsed the transformation of passion,
like a child in love with sands and castles.

Timeless

`

How helpless we are, like netted birds, when we are caught by desire! ~Belva Plain

* * * * *

Timeless

Our hearts are naked under the fractured moonlight,
it is a midnight in a loveless world,
where your kisses no longer attune with
the jasmine oil on my skin.

We once worshiped the light with every dawn
only in the name of love and innocence,
now we are netted birds, webbed like spiders,
caught in brutal ecstasy and fire.

Our blood flows with force through
the adrenaline, the power of eagles wings,
while angels and demons lie spread out
featherless, breathless, blind and it hurts.

And how can we not understand,
if we let the stars die on the satin pillows,
it will make no sense, even if there is the timeless
reflection of holding hands in the cracked mirror.

The touch of metal …

`

The touch of metal

There was a time when
the sky stood triumphant,
spilling dancing birds
and brilliance,
glittery smiles over
the cobalt nets of the sea.

Now the clouds scatter
heartbroken petals,
ashes of innocent violets
that will never breathe love
and the sun rays,
they have the touch of metal.
