When I started blogging, I stumbled on many prompts and challenges. I often thought I would like to create one myself and manage it through to the end. With my favorite season- summer- here and today’s morning coffee the idea came unexpectedly. I invite you to participate with me. Let’s enjoy some time together in the blog world.
Anyone is welcome!
The challenge will take place in July and it will include 5 posts.
2 July – Spring’s favorite
9 July – Summer’s favorite
16 July – Autumn’s favorite
23 July – Winter’s favorite
30 July – All time favorite
Each post has to contain your favorite: word, quote, poem, book, song, movie, town, animal, flower, food and image related to each season. For the last post on July 30, it should contain your all-time favorite.
If you are bi-or-multi-lingual and have a favorite word that is not English, please know the word is not limited to English. The poem may be written by you or by someone else. It doesn’t need to be titled with the name of the season. It needs to show what each season makes you write or think about. With the song you may include a video, but this is not a must rule. The town can be a place where you think a season is best spent, even if you haven’t been there. You can provide a recipe when you write about your favorite meal. Or, you can just name your favorite brand or include a little explanation of why exactly this is your favorite. Most of all the idea of this challenge is to share what we like with others. So be creative in any way you’d like! I would love to discover common or rare interests in the posts of others and to meet new people and be inspired by the desires of others.
After the challenge is over, I’ll choose the posts that I liked the most and create a winners’ tribute. My posts will be up every Saturday at 12:01 a.m. my time. I live in Athens, Greece. You will have a week – from Saturday to Saturday – to share your link in the comment section of my posts. Please feel free to use the banner for Seasons’ Favorite challenge that Sonam and I created. Thank you for the help Sonam! Also, I’d like to invite Cherlyn Cochrane from Over a cup of coffee. Cherlyn took part in a challenge called 31 days of blogging honesty, I enjoyed seeing her posting every day and now that the challenge is over, I’d like to give her more reasons to share with us her unique view on life. So, I think I said everything I was supposed to say about this challenge and if I haven’t, feel free to ask questions. I truly hope there will be enough people to find the idea appealing. I can’t wait for July and the first post of the challenge! Until then, be happy everyone! Peace & Love …

I’d love to participate! I’ve been feeling uninspired since the 31 days posts have ended, so this will give me something new to write about :) Thanks for inviting me! Question: The posts just have to be about those seasons – sharing something I feel or think about them? Just want to make sure I read it right.
Oh, and I plan on catching up with the rest of your posts this week! I’m so bad!
June 12, 2011 at 5:23 am
I’m glad to hear that you will participate :)! The posts have to be something like a bullet points list and to include your favorite word, quote, poem, book, song, movie, town, animal, flower, food and image for each season, it’s up to you if you will include all of the pointed subjects and how you going to present them. You’re not bad :) and my blog is not going anywhere so you take your time! Hugs!

Well, there you go :)! Thanks for the enthusiastic approach here Nimue! Would love to have you on board!

Blaga, you have come up with a great challenge. I confess that I belong to a writer’s group and am being a dismally poor member. I routinely ignore the assignments and forget to post on the weekly “link-up”. Part of the reason is that I love reading so many blogs and writing comments on them that time flies for me. Plus I am committed to the theme presented by my Guides for my blog. Rather than make a commitment, I will say that I will throw my hat in the ring if I see an opening. I look forward to reading the results!
June 12, 2011 at 12:34 pm
Amy, do not worry about a thing! It’s an event to have fun, not to feel obliged! So, whatever comes out it will be great! Thanks for the comment! Happy Sunday!
June 12, 2011 at 10:08 am
Hi, Blaga! Got your message in time. Working on it now. Back later. :-)
June 12, 2011 at 12:35 pm
Sorry for the late announcement, it was kind of last moment inspiration! Thanks Jamie!
June 12, 2011 at 10:53 am
very interesting, will look forward to it.

A wonderful idea, Blaga, and I will certainly participate. Thank you and good luck with this! :-)
June 12, 2011 at 12:36 pm
Yay! I’m very happy that you will be part of it Jamie! Thanks a lot! Thanks for the Sunday wishes!

Thanks for the invite count me in :)
June 12, 2011 at 12:37 pm
Great! Thanks! :)
June 12, 2011 at 2:27 pm
Hi, I would like to participate. I don’t have much experience in writing from promts as I normally follow my guides, but I’d like to give it a try. I am “self-invited,” is that ok? Hugs, pat
June 12, 2011 at 2:36 pm
Of course!!! Not need to ask! Anyone is welcome and I’d love to see you participate! Thank you so much!
June 12, 2011 at 5:50 pm
What a great idea! I will try and come up with a post for each. Do we just post them to our own blogs or is there someplace specific you’d like us to post? I also agree with souldipper – I visit so many blogs and do a lot of reading, so it’s hard to stay committed to a particular group but I will try my best. I’ve seen your latest posts in my inbox – will try to get to them this week. :)
June 12, 2011 at 7:58 pm
Hi, Corina! As I said to Amy, no obligations, just enjoy if you have the time and the will! You should make the posts and publish them to you blog, then just drop me a link on the comment section of my posts, so I know who really participates! Thanks! I owe you a visit too :), I hope to get there sooner! Have a good day!
June 13, 2011 at 2:39 pm
…of course I´m in :)
thank you for the invite, Blaga!
June 27, 2011 at 7:04 am
I’m happy to hear so!
June 13, 2011 at 7:56 pm
I’m in! Thanks for the invite. I’ll soon b done with book reviews for a while, so my time will be freed up by th beginning of July. One question – does each post have to include a favorite in all the categories (flower, music, book, movie, etc), of can I choose only one or two?
June 14, 2011 at 6:45 am
I was thinking to be like a collection/ as Jamie expressed herself in the comment below/ but I guess it’s ok to skip a thing or two, it’s up to you Paula. Freedom is something I will always allow, because I am a freedom lover myself! I’ll be happy to see you participate! Thanks!
June 14, 2011 at 6:36 am
Question: Do we do all of these or just pick one: “word, quote, poem, book, song, movie, town, animal, flower, food and image related to each season.” In other words, what you are asking for is a collection in each post? A fabulous idea. Just want to be sure. Thanks! I like that.
See your post go up at 12:01 a.m. PST, June 14. Again, thank you, Blaga.
June 14, 2011 at 6:47 am
Yes, collection! Exactly! I personally will have on my posts all of the above, but if that’s a lot for the participants, I guess they can skip some of the pointed subjects! Thanks a lot Jamie! Have a good night!
