Drip drop the moonlight goes …

Drip drop the moonlight goes …

“How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank.
Here will we sit, and let the sounds of music
Creep in our ears; soft stillness, and the night
Become the touches of sweet harmony.”

Moonlight drops

In the breeze of summer
I find the foreshadows of heaven.
I long, but only a whisper I can hold.
In a piece from the sky and a jasmine scent
there is always another sunny day,
brimming fragrance of a rose bouquet.

In the leftovers of rain
I find the herald of loss and pain.
I run, but the concrete slips away.
In a dripping mist and a deplete rainbow
there is always a message to decipher,
lipstick scribbles on a tantalizing mirror.

In the drops of the moonlight
I caught the sight of your unknown face.
I shine, but only a short rapture I take.
In the afterglow and your embrace
there is always the hazard of gazing at love,
the pine to see you stay for one more day.

Truly haunting…must be read multiple times, and each time the poem reveals a little more of itself…like a woman slowly getting to know you.

The sensory images you create are “delicious,” Blaga.

  9. Amy @ Soul Dipper Says:

You use words uniquely and create new images for me. Some phrases cause me to pause and visualize their meaning – like “leftovers of rain”. That conjures smells, sounds, freshness and breezes against my skin.

Oh so full of poetry, passion, and pining. Lovely and wistful and can almost smell the roses and jasmine. Well done, Blaga. Nice choice of video and quote to go with.

Poem on … Thanks for such pleasure.

Ah, I love the words in this. You use so many good phrases that it’s hard to pick just one favorite! You’ve captured the bitter-sweetness of love so well in this one, Blaga.

  15. Jessica Says:

Well, the Shakespeare poem was great, as was yours, Blaga! But I’m not sure about that song. Eurovision? I think the UK has given up on it…the songs barely no resemblence to the pop and rock charts!

  16. Cherlyn Says:

Your poetry is always full of so much passion, it’s always such a pleasure to read it. I love the lines: “In the leftovers of rain I find the herald of loss and pain”, they seem to resonate with me. The image you chose to pair the poem with works wonderfully too.

  17. marousia Says:

    Gorgeous imagery and such longing!

  18. deadpoet88 Says:

Wonderful imagery, you are so good at bringing out that longing, love, and romance. I don’t think I’ve come across too many such poets that bring out the feeling of falling in love so well. You are really an excellent writer Bee!

there is always the hazard of gazing at love,
