Airports, airplanes …
I love airports with big spatial halls,
panels showing arrivals and departures,
pleasant voice of a woman announcing flights
or asking politely passengers to hurry up.
Hectic people with suitcases, couples saying “good bye”.
Checking-in, hand luggage, business areas, duty free shops,
Swiss chocolates, the smell of Armani perfume,
Tie rack, newspapers and maps, everything.
I love airplanes and the sits next to the window,
where you can look at the funny clouds and
see bright light coming from the sun going down.
The stewardess in immaculate clean uniform
and little scarfs with the colors of the airline.
The noise of the passengers around me,
the departure of the plane, bringing strange
feeling of creeping ants on your back.
I even love the turbulence that
wakes you up, shaking the whole aircraft,
showing you how wonderful is to be alive.
The view of the town from the top,
with houses in a shape of a match.
The landing, the touch of the wheels to
the ground and the sound of a relief in the air.
But most of all, what I love is, when I pass the exit gates,
to see you on the other end, waiting with a smile, ready to take me home.
