Next to you

Next to you

This day is dying slowly, only a sigh away and
its remains are lost in the hands of a long night.
Glimpse of life within the minutes before midnight
and I realize, I assure myself again …

To this world I didn’t come to shed tears,
to bleed for unfulfilled hope I wasn’t born.
My eyes were not meant sad and thirsty to be,
my heart was not created to fight evil.

I came to feel the sun and the blue of the sea,
to taste the love and the moonlight that speaks to me.
I exist, I breathe to learn what sweetness is,
what light is, after every step next to you.

Great photo Blaga. Next to you really makes you think about things that are important. I like the first three lines and the last three the best.

    Blaga,
I love the message in this poem and the parts of life you use to express, “I came to feel the bright sun and the salty sea,

to taste the fruit of love and the moonlight that speaks of passion!”

Wonderful parts of life. I also like that you reference breathing to learn… wonderful!

    Peace,

    Stephen

I can relate to this one a lot, and I really enjoy these lines “My eyes were not meant sad and thirsty to be, my heart was not created to fight evil and pain!” I just really enjoy the hopefulness this poem envokes, that need to get up after having fallen. At least thats how I interpretted it! lol
